Why Yoga?

Many people that practice yoga do so to maintain their health and well-being, improve physical fitness, relieve stress, and enhance quality of life.  We strongly believe that community and camaraderie in a studio setting are beneficial to overall wellness, and as part of a regular yoga practice, has the power to call forth our best selves.

Yoga lights an ember of love, kindness, and gratitude within me that continues to stoke with each breath I take. I always leave my mat spiritually rejuvenated and more in tune with my body's needs. Through yoga, I not only found a lifelong physical and spiritual practice, but more meaningfully, I found myself. My hope is to share that light with everyone who walks through the front door at Apex Yoga and to help stoke a flame of self-love, empowerment, and connection within each and every yogi we meet.

Natasha Bailey


Before Natasha was properly introduced to yoga, she thought that yoga was only about stretching and chanting, but after taking her first class, she realized that yoga is a tool to remind us and draw us back to the present moment. Natasha focuses on our emotional connection with ourselves during class and the binding of a physical practice with a deeper understanding of ourselves through breath and movement. She hopes to create a practice that is accessible and meaningful for any student. Outside of yoga, Natasha loves traveling, reading, and being outdoors.

Jeni Shibata


Jeni first started yoga to balance out her busy lifestyle with a moment of serenity but soon discovered the depth within. She says, "Yoga is very versatile, accessible and beneficial to the physical, as well as spiritual aspects of your life. Whether you are a first time yogi or a life time practitioner, I am here to create a safe space for my students to embrace open-mindedness and to practice self-care." What started as a curiosity turned into a life long journey for Jeni and she hopes to share that with all of you. 

Jenna Owczarek

Jenna’s yoga journey began as an escape from reality and a chance to ground down after a stressful day. She quickly learned the importance of a firm mind/body connection as she dove deeper into her personal practice. She hopes to establish a connection between breath and movement in class while focusing on svadyaya (self-study) and allowing her students a safe haven where they feel comfortable and free of judgment.

Max Hannemann


Max is from Laie, Hawaii and a proud graduate of Kahuku High School on Oahu’s beautiful North Shore. Growing up with 9 brothers and 2 sisters, Max was always involved in all types of sports. He started to attend Sculpt classes at CPY in 2012 and instantly fell in love with the practice and all the benefits it provided his mind, body and spirit. In the spring of 2015, Max enthusiastically took his journey to the next level by completing his Sculpt Teacher Training followed by the Extensions Program. Max is excited to share these great benefits of Yoga to empower others to find their balance in life. Max has a bachelor’s degree in International Business Management from Brigham Young University, Hawaii Campus and a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. In his free time, Max enjoys spending time with his family, participating in outdoor activities and sports.

Karissa Holcombe

A California girl born and raised, Karissa's been lucky to call Hawaii home for most of her adult life. A proud military spouse and mom of 4, Karissa has found peace and healing through the vibrations of quartz crystal bowls - and is fervent in sharing the same healing with others. 

Karen Park

Karen Park was born and raised in Sunny California. She is currently living her dreams in Hawaii teaching yoga and surrounding herself with nature. In her classes, Karen uses restorative and vinyasa flow to help people create their best selves.

Min Soo Pata

Restorative yoga w/sound healing, beginner's Yoga

My name is Min Soo and some people know me as Miso. The yoga asana practice I share is part of my personal practice and it developed through my physical development to find the perfect pose for my body. Being able to understand how to engage the muscles and move while also being able to relax the mind as we feel our body in poses, helps to move energy through our body. Small muscles and big muscles work together so we can move/feel better all the way from the top of the head through the fingers and toes. Sound healing therapy is also part of the experience in practice to stimulate our senses. Working as a licensed massage therapist has brought me a never-ending opportunity to combine healing modalities and expand the practice we will share in class.

Amita Aung-Thwin

A1, AR

Amita sees life as an adventure that is meant to be filled with passion and purpose.  She is a dedicated teacher who believes yoga is a powerful vehicle to reconnect with your true self.   Yoga has been, and continues to be, a vital healing, life-changing tool for her, that she considers it an honor and a gift to be able to share it with her students.  She creates a welcoming, safe, environment for students of all levels, and loves the energetic connection of a class setting.  Outside the studio she enjoys painting, traveling, live music, and the beach.

Celeste Fajardo


Celeste holds a B.S degree in Health and Exercise Science and is a certified barre instructor. She got hooked on the low-impact movements, modifications and tempo of the pilates and yoga workout. Celeste loves to incorporate fun playlists, cardio, and safe body alignment to her classes. She hopes her students leave class feeling accomplished, and with a full body workout. When she is not in the studio, Celeste loves to go hiking, play soccer, and spend time with family.
